Explain the following:
Tetravalency
उत्तर
Carbon can neither lose nor gain electrons to attain an octet. Thus, it shares four electrons with other atoms. This characteristic of carbon, by virtue of which it forms four covalent bonds, is called tetravalency of carbon.
