प्रश्न
Find the equation of a line whose intercepts on the x and y axes are given below
`- 5, 3/4`
उत्तर
x intercept (a) = – 5, y intercept (b) = `3/4`
Equation of a line is `x/"a" + y/"b"` = 1
⇒ `x/(-5) + y/(3/4)` = 1
`x/(-5) + (4y)/3` = 1 ...(L.C.M. of 5 and 3 is 15)
– 3x + 20y = 15
– 3x + 20y – 15 = 0
3x – 20y + 15 = 0
∴ Equation of a line is 3x – 20y + 15 = 0
