10 – 20 5
20 – 30 10
30 – 40 4
40 – 50 15
50 – 60 12
  1. What is the lower limit of the second class interval?
  2. What is the upper limit of the last class interval?
  3. What is the frequency of the third class?
  4. Which interval has a frequency of 10?

उत्तर

  1. The lower limit of second class interval (20 – 30) is 20.
  2. The upper limit of the last class interval (50 – 60) is 60.
  3. The frequency of the third class (30 – 40) is 4.
  4. The interval (20 – 30) has a frequency of 10.
  5. The interval (30 – 40) has the lowest frequency, i.e. 4.
  6. We know that, Class size = Upper class limit – Lower class limit
    Consider first class, i.e. 10 – 20, then class size = 20 – 10 = 10

Below 13 243
Below 16 300

(i) State the number of students in the age group 10 - 13.
(ii) State the age-group which has the least number of students.

Construct a cumulative frequency distribution table from the frequency table given below:

Class Interval Frequency
0 -8 9
8 - 16 13
16 - 24 12
24 - 32 7
32 - 40  15

328, 470, 405, 375, 298, 326, 276, 362, 410, 255, 391, 370, 455, 229, 300, 183, 283, 366, 400, 495, 215, 157, 374, 306, 280, 409, 321, 269, 398, 200

The number of times an observation occurs in the given data is called ________

Upper limit of class interval 75 – 85 is ______.

Using the following frequency table.

Marks (obtained out of 10) 4 5 7 8 9 10
Frequency 5 10 8 6 12 9

The frequency of less than 8 marks is 29.

If the fifth class interval is 60 – 65, fourth class interval is 55 – 60, then the first-class interval is 45 – 50.

The class size of the class interval 60 – 68 is 8.

The weights (in kg) of 30 students of a class are:

39, 38, 36, 38, 40, 42, 43, 44, 33, 33, 31, 45, 46, 38, 37, 31, 30, 39, 41, 41, 46, 36, 35, 34, 39, 43, 32, 37, 29, 26.
