प्रश्न
State any two conditions that favour the cultivation of cotton in India.
उत्तर
There are two factors that make cotton farming in India more favourable:
- India's cotton farming industry grows best in warm regions with 20°C to 30°C temperatures and 50 to 100 cm of rainfall.
- It needs plenty of sunshine and at least 200 "frost-free" days to flourish.
- With the use of irrigation, it may also be grown in regions with lower rainfall.
- The ideal soil types for growing cotton are the alluvial soil of the Northern Plain and the black cotton soil of the Deccan Plateau.
