प्रश्न
Why is the boiling point of aldehydes and ketones lower than that of corresponding carboxylic acids?
उत्तर
Association occurs in carboxylic acids due to the development of intermolecular H-bonding. As a result, the boiling point rises faster than that of comparable molecular mass aldehydes, ketones, and alcohols.
