Solution
It is given that 3, b, 27 are in continued proportion.
`therefore 3/b = b/27`
⇒ `b^2 = 3 xx 27`
⇒ `b^2 = 81`
⇒ `b = sqrt81 = 9`
Thus, the value of b is 9.
