Question

A conical pit of top diameter 3.5 m is 12 m deep. What is its capacity in kilo litres?

Solution

Radius (r) of pit` = 3.5/2m=1.75m `

Depth (h) of pit = 12 m

Volume of pit = `1/3pir^2h=1/3xx22/7xx(1.75)^2xx12`

`=38.5m^3`

∴ Capacity of the pit = `(38.5xx1)`Kilometers

=38.5Kilo liters
