Question

A cuboid has total surface area of 372 cm2 and its lateral surface area is 180 cm2, find the area of its base.

Short Note

Solution

We have,

Total surface area of the cuboid `(A) = 372 cm^2`

Lateral surface area of the cuboid `(A) = 180 cm^2`

Let,

a →Area of the base

We know that,

A = A' + 2a

`a = (A-A')/2`

  `=(372-180)/2`

  `=192/2`

   =96 cm2

Area of the base is  96 cm2
