Question

A hall has a capacity of 2704 seats. If the number of rows is equal to the number of seats in each row, then find the number of seats in each row

Sum

Solution

Given: Total number of seats = 2704

Suppose number of seats in each row be ‘x’.

As per the condition given in the question,

Total number of seats = a × a

2704 = x2

By taking square root on both side,

x = `sqrt(2704)`

x = `sqrt(52 xx 52)`

x = `sqrt(52^2)`

x = 52

Hence, the number of seats in each row is 52.
