Let the number = 100
By the given condition,
`x - (x xx 16)/(100)` = 798
⇒ `(100x - 16x)/(100)` = 798
⇒ `(84)/(100)x` = 798
⇒ `x = (798 xx 100)/(84)`
= `(114 xx 100)/(12)`
= `(114 xx 25)/(3)`
= 38 x 25
= 950
∴ The required number = 950
