Question
In an election, there are a total of 80,000 voters and two candidates, A and B. 80% of the voters go to the polls out of which 60% vote for A. How many votes does B get.
Solution
Member of voters = 80,000
Total vote polled = 80% of 80,000 = `80/100xx80000` = 64,000
Vote polled to A = 60% of 64,000 = `60/100xx64000` = 38,400
Vote polled to B = Total vote polled – Vote polled to A
= 64,000 – 38,400
= 25,600
