1) the acceleration acquired by the truck and

2) the force applied

Mass of truck = 5000 kg

Initial velocity, u = 0 m/s

Distance, s = 0.5 km = 500 m

Time, t = 10 s

1) From equation : 

${\displaystyle S=ut+\frac{1}{2}a{t}^2}$

${\displaystyle 500=0\times 10+\frac{1}{2}a\times {\left(10\right)}^2}$

500 = 50a

a = 500/50 = 10 ms^-2

2) Force =  mass x acceleration

${\displaystyle F=5000\times 10=5\times {10}^{4}N}$
