Question
Add the following expression:
a3 − 2b3 + a, b3 − 2a3 + b and − 2b + 2b3 − 5a + 4a3
Solution
(a3 − 2b3 + a) + (b3 − 2a3 + b) + (− 2b + 2b3 − 5a + 4a3)
= a3 − 2b3 + a + b3 − 2a3 + b − 2b + 2b3 − 5a + 4a3
= a3 + 4a3 − 2a3 − 2b3 + b3 + 2b3 + a − 5a + b − 2b
= 3a3 + b3 − 4a − b
