Question
Answer the following question:
Why do farmers find the production of hybrid seeds costly?
Solution
The production of hybrid seeds involves a process of artificial hybridization that comes along with steps such as emasculation, bagging, raising of seedlings in nursery beds, etc. This process requires intensive labor and is also not feasible economically for all farmers. Also, the hybrid seeds cannot be used for the next season. This further adds to their cost.
