Question
Calculate the volume occupied by 320 g of sulphur dioxide at STP. [S = 32; O = 16]
Solution
Molecular weight of SO2 = 32 + (2 x 16) = 64 g
64 g of SO2 has volume = 22.4 litres
∴ 320 g of SO2 has volume = `22.4/4 xx 320`
= 112 litres
