Question
Check whether the following quantities form a proportion or not?
`2 1/2, 5 1/2, 3.0 "and" 6.0`
Solution
`2 1/2, 5 1/2, 3.0 "and" 6.0` are in proportion
if `2 1/2 xx 6.0 = 5 1/2 xx 3.0`
`=> 5/2 xx 6.0 = 11/2 xx 3.0 => 30/2 = 33/2`
which is not true.
Hence `2 1/2, 5 1/2, 3.0 "and" 6.0` are not in proportion.
