If m : n = 4 : 9 and n : s : 3 : 7, find m : s

Sum

Solution

m : n = 4 : 9

`"m"/"n" = 4/9`

and n : s : 3 : 7

∴ `"n"/"s" = 3/7`

∴ `"m"/"n" xx "n"/"s" = 4/9 xx 3/7`

`"m"  :  "s" = 4 : 21`
