Determine if the following ratio form a proportion:
2 kg : 80 kg and 25 g : 625 kg
Solution
2 kg : 80 kg and 25 g : 625 kg
(or) 2 kg : 80 kg and 25 g : 625000 g
`2/80=(2 ÷ 2)/(80 ÷ 2)=1/40` and `25/625000=(25 ÷ 25)/(625000 ÷ 25)=1/25000`
Hence, they are not in proportion.
