Question

Find the following product: (x − 3) ( x − 2)

Answer in Brief

Solution

Here, we will use the identity \[\left( x - a \right)\left( x - b \right) = x^2 - \left( a + b \right)x + ab\].

\[\left( x - 3 \right)\left( x - 2 \right)\]

\[ = x^2 - \left( 3 + 2 \right)x + 3 \times 2\]

\[ = x^2 - 5x + 6\]
