Question
Find the median of the following data (1-8)
92, 35, 67, 85, 72, 81, 56, 51, 42, 69
Solution
Given number are
92, 35, 67, 85, 72, 81, 56, 51, 42, 69
Arranging in increasing order
35, 42, 51, 56, 67, 69, 72, 81, 85, 92
n = 10 (even)
∴ Median = `(n^(th)/2 value +(n/2 + 1)^(th) value)/2`
= `(5^(th) value + 6^(th)value)/2`
= `(67 + 69 )/2 = 68.`
