Question

Find the slope of the line passing through the points G(4, 5) and H (–1, –2).

Solution

The slope of the line passing through the points

\[\left( x_1 , y_1 \right) and \left( x_2 , y_2 \right)\]
\[\frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1}\]
∴ Slope of the line passing through the points G(4, 5) and H (–1, –2) =
\[\frac{- 2 - 5}{- 1 - 4} = \frac{- 7}{- 5} = \frac{7}{5}\]
