Find the following ratio in the simplest form:
2.4 km to 900 m
Solution
2.4 km to 900 m = 2400m:900m = `2400/900 = 24/9 = (24÷3)/(9 ÷3) = 8/3`
As the H.C.F. of 8 and 3 is 1, the simplest form of 2400:900 is 8:3.
