Question
Find the Median of the following data:
2,10,9,9,5,2,3,7,11,15.
Solution
Arranging the data in ascending order, we get
2, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 9, 10, 11, 15
Here n = 10 (Even)
So, Median
= `(("n"/2)^"th" "term" + ("n"/2 + 1)^"th" "term")/(2)`
= `((10/2)^"th" "term" + (10/2 + 1)^"th" "term")/(2)`
= `(5^"th" "term" + 6^"th" "term")/(2)`
= `(7 + 9)/(2)`
= `(16)/(2)`
= 8.
