Question
Find the sum of 3a + 4b + 7c, − 5a + 3b − 6c and 4a − 2b − 4c.
Solution
(3a + 4b + 7c) + (− 5a + 3b − 6c) + (4a − 2b − 4c)
= 3a + 4b + 7c − 5a + 3b − 6c + 4a − 2b − 4c
= 3a + 4a − 5a + 4b + 3b − 2b + 7c − 6c − 4c
= 7a − 5a + 7b − 2b + 7c − 10c
= 2a + 5b − 3c
