Question
Find the volume and surface area of a sphere of radius 2.1 cm. `(pi=22/7)`
Solution
Radius of the sphere = 2.1 cm.
Volume of a sphere is `4/3pir^3`
`= 4/3 xx (22/7) xx 2.1^3`
`= (4 xx 22 xx 21 xx 2.1^2 xx 10^-1)/21`
`= 88 xx 4.41 xx 10^-1`
= 38.808 cm3
Surface area of a sphere is 4πr2
`= 4 xx (22/7) xx 2.1^2`
`= (4 xx 22 xx 21 xx 2.1 xx 10^-1)/7`
`= 4 xx 22 xx 3 xx 2.1 xx 10^-1`
= 55.44 cm2
