Four-fifth of a number is more than three-fourth of the number by 4. Find the number.
Solution
Let the number be x .
According to the question,
\[ \frac{4}{5}x - \frac{3}{4}x = 4\]
\[\text{ or }\frac{16x - 15x}{20} = 4\]
or x = 80 [After cross multiplication]
Thus, the required number is 80.
