Question
Identify the following sequence is in G.P.?
`1/3, 1/6, 1/12, ...`
Solution
`1/3, 1/6, 1/12, ...`
r = `("t"_2)/("t"_1)`
= `(1/6)/(1/3)`
= `1/6 xx 3/1 = 1/2`
r = `("t"_3)/("t"_2)`
= `(1/12)/(1/6)`
= `1/12 xx 6/1 = 1/2`
r = `1/2 = 1/2`
∴ It is a G.P.
