Solution
Let x be the number
Then, half of the number is `x/2`
According to the question,
`x/2 + 45` = 3x
⇒ `(x + 90)/2` = 3x
⇒ x + 90 = 6x
⇒ x = `90/5` = 18
Hence, the number is 18.
