If the price of an article is increased by 25%, The increase is Rs. 10. Find a new price.
Solution
Let the price of an article = Rs. 100
Increase = 25%
∴Increase = Rs. 25
If an increased price = Rs. 100 + 25 = Rs. 125
If increase is Rs. 25 then new price = Rs. 125
and if increase is Rs. 10, then new price = Rs. `(125 xx 10)/25`
= Rs. 50
