Obtain the equation of the line containing the point: A(2, – 3) and parallel to the Y-axis.

Solution

Equation of a line parallel to Y-axis is of the form x = h.
Since, the line passes through A(2, – 3).
∴ h = 2
∴ the equation of the required line is x = 2.
