Question
Solve of the following equations, giving answer up to two decimal places.
3x2 – x – 7 =0
Solution
3x2 – x – 7 =0
Here a = 3, b = −1 and c = −7
`x = (-b +- sqrt((-1)^2 - 4(3)(-7)))/(2(3))`
`=> x = (1 +- sqrt85)/6 = (1 +- 9.22)/6`
`=> x = 10.22/6 and (-8.22)/6 = 1.70 and -1.37`
