Question
Solve the following:
0.16(5x – 2) = 0.4x + 7
Solution
Given, 0.16(5x – 2) = 0.4x + 7
⇒ 0.8x – 0.32 = 0.4x + 7
⇒ 0.8x – 0.4x = 0.32 + 7 ...[Transposing 0.4x to LHS and – 0.32 to RHS]
⇒ 0.4x = 7.32
⇒ `(0.4x)/(0.4) = (7.32)/0.4` ...[Dividing both sides by 0.4]
∴ x = 18.3
