Solution

On addition of ethyl alcohol to acetic acid in the presence of conc. H2SO4 at high temperature, sweet-smelling ethyl acetate ester is produced, and the process is known as esterification.
C2H5OH + CH3COOH → CH3COOC2H5 + H2O
