Question
The measures of angles of a quadrilateral in degrees are x°, (3x-40)°, 2xo and (4x+20)o. Find the measures of the angles.
Solution
Sum of angles of a quadrilateral = 360°
⇒ x°+ (3x - 40)° + 2x° + (4x + 30)° = 360°
⇒ 10x° - 10° = 360°
⇒ x = 37°
Therefore, the measures of the angles are 37°, (3 x 37- 40)°, 2 x 37° and (4 x 37 + 20°)
i.e. 3°7, 71°, 74° aand 168°.
