Let the number be x.
Therefore,
`x + (8)/(100)x xx` = 1620
⇒ `(100x + 8x)/(100)` = 1620
⇒ 108x = 1620 x 100
⇒ x = `(1620 xx 100)/(108)`
⇒ x = 1500
Hence, 1500 is the number.
