Question

The time periods of two simple pendulums at a place are in the ratio 2:1. What will be the corresponding ratio of their lengths?
Sum

Solution

T1 : T2 = 2 : 1
But since T α `sqrt(l)`
So
`"T"_1/"T"_2=sqrt(l1)/sqrt(l2)=2/1`
`(l1)/(l2)=(2xx2)/(1xx1)`
`=4/1`
