What percent of 1 hour is 30 minutes?
Solution
Let x% of 1 h be 30 min.
Then, `x/100 xx 1 h` = 30 min
⇒ `x/100 xx 60` min = 30 min .....[∵ 1 h = 60 min]
⇒ x = `(30 xx 100)/60`
∴ x = 50%
Hence, 50% of 1 h is 30 min.
