Question
‘When the turn of my class came I sat up anxiously’.
Why was the narrator anxious? Explain the statement by citing suitable references from the extract.
Solution
At first, the narrator found it quite challenging to deal with the rude, unruly, and mischievous students. They have no desire to alter their actions or attitude. In the end, the students fall in love with the narrator because of his original and imaginative ideas, creative methods, and comprehension of their psyche. Later on, the narrator developed a strong affection for his students and wished them success in life. He desired for them to be brilliant. He is now keen to observe the extent to which his instruction has been successful. On the significant day of the Students' Council's half-yearly report, he can assess it based on their demeanor, conduct, and attitude. Additionally, he wanted to examine how they would communicate and how much they had learned in the allotted time. The head of the school, the teachers, and the pupils are present during the program. It's a formal and serious one. So when it was his class's time, he sat up nervously.
