Solution

The General Assembly adopted the ‘International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination’ in December, 1965. The convention came into force in 1969 and as its name suggests called for an end to Racial Discrimination in all its forms. It was mandatory for the States who ratified it.
