Question

Which stoichiometric defect does not change the density of the crystal?

One Line Answer

Solution

Frenkel defect is the stoichiometric defect that does not change the density of the crystal because in this defect an ion generally cation gets dislocate which creates a vacancy and interstitial defect simultaneously which cancels out each other in terms of density and hence frenkel defect does not change density  of the crystal.
