Solution
8x2y − 3y2 + x2y5
Sum of the powers of the term 8x2y = 2 + 1 = 3
Sum of the powers of the term 3y2 = 2
Sum of the powers of the term x2y5 = 2 + 5 = 7
∴ The degree of given polynomial = 7
