Question
Write the degree of the following polynomial:
8z3 − 8y2z3 + 7yz5
Solution
8z3 − 8y2z3 + 7yz5
Sum of the powers of the term 8z3 = 3
Sum of the powers of the term 8y2z3 = 2 + 3 = 5
Sum of the powers of the term 7yz5 = 1 + 5 = 6
∴ The degree of given polynomial = 6
