System of Resistors and Effective Resistance:;

A resistor is an essential electrical component characterised by a specific resistance that limits the flow of electric current between its two terminals. In practical electrical circuits and devices, multiple resistors are often connected together in various configurations to achieve desired electrical properties, such as controlling current or dividing voltage. These configurations, referred to as a system of resistors, are commonly categorised into two primary types:

  1. Series Connection
  2. Parallel Connection

The combined resistance of the entire system is termed the effective resistance, which depends on the manner in which the resistors are connected.

The calculation of effective resistance in these systems follows the principles of Ohm’s law, ensuring that the relationship between voltage, current, and resistance is consistent across the circuit. Understanding the effective resistance of a resistor network is critical for designing and analysing electrical and electronic systems.
