प्रश्न
3, 8, 10, x, 14, 16, 18, 20 are in the ascending order and their median is 13. Calculate the numerical value of x.
उत्तर
3, 8, 10, x, 14, 16, 18, 20 is already in ascending order
Here N = 8
∴ `("N"/2)^"th"`term
= `(8/2)`
= 4th term
= x
`("N"/2 + 1)^"th"`term
= 4 + 1
= 5th term
= 14
Given, median = 13
∴ `(x + 14)/(2)` = 13
∴ x + 14
= 13 x 2
= 26
⇒ x
= 26 - 14
= 12.
