tan(θ+iφ) = tanα+isecα     ∴tan(θ-iφ)=tanα-isecα

∴tan2θ = tan[(θ+iφ)+(θ-iφ)

=tan(θ+iφ)+tan(θ-iφ)1-tan(θ+iφ)tan(θ-iφ)

=tan(θ+isecα)+tan(θ-isecα)1-tan(θ+isecα)tan(θ-isecα)

=2tanα1-(tan2α+sec2α)=2tanα-2tan2α-cotα=tan(π2+α)

2θ=nπ+π2+α. (general value).

Again tan(2iφ)=tan[(θ+iφ)-[(θ-iφ)]

=tan(θ+isecα)+tan(θ-isecα)1+tan(θ+isecα)tan(θ-isecα)

itan2φ=2isecα2sec2α=icosα

tanh2φ=cosα

2φ=tanh-1cosαcosα12log[1+cosα1-cosα]

=12log[2cos2(α2)2sin2(α2)]logcot(α2)
