The curved surface area of a right circular cylinder is 176 sq cm and its volume is 1232 cu cm. What is the height of the cylinder?

योग

उत्तर

Given, C.S.A of cylinder = 176 cm2

∴ 2πrh = 176  ...(i)

And volume of cylinder = 1232

∴ πr2h = 1232  ...(ii)

On dividing equation (ii) by equation (i), we get

`(πr^2h)/(2πrh) = 1232/176`

⇒ `r/2 = 1232/176`

⇒ r = `(1232 xx 2)/176`

⇒ r = `2464/176` = 14 cm

Now, from equation (i),

2π(14)h = 176

h = `(176 xx 7)/(2 xx 22 xx 14)`

= `1232/616`

= 2 cm

Hence, height of right circular cylinder = 2 cm.
