प्रश्न

The following pie chart depicts the expenditure of a state government under different heads.

  1. If the total spending is 10 crores, how much money was spent on roads?
  2. How many times is the amount of money spent on education compared to the amount spent on roads?
  3. What fraction of the total expenditure is spent on both roads and public welfare together?
योग

उत्तर

i. Amount spent on road

= 10% of total spending

= `10/100` × Total amount

= `10/100` × 10 crore

= 1 crore

ii. Amount spent on education

= 25% of total spending

= `25/100` × Total amount

= `25/100` × 10 crore

= 2.5 crore

Amount spent on roads

= `10/100` × 10 crore

= 1 crore

Now, `"Amount spent on education"/"Amount spent on roads" = (2.5  "crore")/(1  "crore")`

⇒ `"Amount spent on education"/"Amount spent on roads"` = 2.5 crore

⇒ Amount spent on education = 2.5 × Amount spent on roads.

iii. On roads = `10/100 = 1/10`

On public welfare = `20/100 = 2/10`

⇒ On road and public welfare = `1/10 + 2/10`

⇒ On road and public welfare = `3/10`
