प्रश्न
The following pie chart depicts the expenditure of a state government under different heads.
- If the total spending is 10 crores, how much money was spent on roads?
- How many times is the amount of money spent on education compared to the amount spent on roads?
- What fraction of the total expenditure is spent on both roads and public welfare together?
उत्तर
i. Amount spent on road
= 10% of total spending
= `10/100` × Total amount
= `10/100` × 10 crore
= 1 crore
ii. Amount spent on education
= 25% of total spending
= `25/100` × Total amount
= `25/100` × 10 crore
= 2.5 crore
Amount spent on roads
= `10/100` × 10 crore
= 1 crore
Now, `"Amount spent on education"/"Amount spent on roads" = (2.5 "crore")/(1 "crore")`
⇒ `"Amount spent on education"/"Amount spent on roads"` = 2.5 crore
⇒ Amount spent on education = 2.5 × Amount spent on roads.
iii. On roads = `10/100 = 1/10`
On public welfare = `20/100 = 2/10`
⇒ On road and public welfare = `1/10 + 2/10`
⇒ On road and public welfare = `3/10`
