Biodiversity

Biodiversity refers to the great variety of plants, animals, and other living organisms found on Earth.

Plants Animals
There is a wide variety of plants on Earth, ranging from those with colourful flowers, such as roses and sunflowers, to those without flowers, like ferns and mosses. Animals exhibit a wide range of diversity, from microscopic single-celled organisms like amoebas to large, complex organisms such as elephants.
Plants inhabit diverse environments, with some growing in water, like lotus and water lilies, while others thrive in arid desert conditions, such as cacti. They are classified into two groups: vertebrates, such as mammals, birds, and fish, which have a backbone, and invertebrates, such as insects, jellyfish, and worms, which lack a backbone.
Plants adapt to different climates, including cold, snowy regions where conifers like pine trees grow and microscopic plants like algae, alongside massive trees such as redwoods in temperate forests. Animals adapt to different habitats, including aquatic environments like oceans and rivers (e.g., dolphins, fish), terrestrial habitats like forests and grasslands (e.g., lions, deer), and amphibious environments where they live both on land and in water (e.g., frogs, crocodiles).
