प्रश्न
Draw a line segment of length 6 cm. Construct its perpendicular bisector. Measure the two parts of theline segment.
उत्तर
Steps of construction:
(i) Draw a line segment AB = 6 cm
(ii) With centre A and radius more than `1/2 (AB)` draw the arcs on each side of AB.
(iii) With centre B and same radius draw the arcs on each side of AB, which cuts the previously drawn arcs at X and Y.
(iv) Join XY which cuts the line segment AB at O.
Thus XY is the perpendicular bisector of AB.
On measuring the two parts, we get AO = OB = 3 cm.
